Reporting a calculation problem
Bug reports are the most useful messages we get, and the ones most often impossible to act on. The difference is almost always detail. To make a report we can actually reproduce, include:
- Which calculator — the page address is ideal.
- The exact values you entered, including any optional fields and which mode you had selected. "It gave the wrong number for my marks" cannot be reproduced; a full set of inputs can.
- The result you got and the result you expected, with your reasoning if you have it.
- Anything from the How was this calculated? panel that looks wrong. That panel usually pinpoints the step where our arithmetic and yours part company.
- Your browser and device, if the problem looks like a display or interaction issue rather than a maths one.
Rules that do not match yours
Some calculators depend on grading scales, marking schemes or game formulas that vary. If a tool's rule set does not match the one you are held to, that is worth telling us — but please include a link to or a copy of the official rule you are working from. We would rather add a documented alternative than swap one unverified assumption for another.
Suggesting a calculator
Suggestions are welcome. The ones most likely to get built are the specific ones: tell us what you need to work out, what information you would have to hand when you start, and what the answer would let you do. That is far more useful than a tool name on its own.
What we cannot help with
We cannot tell you what rank a given exam score will produce, confirm what your official university transcript will say, give financial or investment advice, or interpret results for your personal situation. Those depend on records and rules held by the relevant institution, not by us. For anything official, check with the institution directly.
Response times
This is a small site and replies are not instant. Clear bug reports get attention first, because they affect everyone using that calculator.
