JPG to ZIP Converter

Convert JPG images to ZIP right in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Many forms and email services accept one attachment, so a set of photos has to travel as a single ZIP.

About JPG and ZIP files

JPEG is the standard format for photographs. It compresses by discarding fine detail the eye is unlikely to miss, so files are small but every re-save loses a little more.

A ZIP archive bundles many files into one download. The images inside are stored exactly as they were — JPEGs are already compressed, so zipping them again would save almost nothing. It is a good choice for sending or uploading many photos as a single file.

Limits

Up to 30 files of 25 MB each per batch and images up to 50 megapixels — beyond that browsers run out of memory, so the tool says so instead of producing a broken file. Reading AVIF needs a current browser (Chrome or Edge 85+, Firefox 93+, Safari 16.4+); an older one reports the file as unreadable. HEIC decoding uses libheif in the background and can take a few seconds per photo on a phone. Files that are not images, or are damaged, are rejected with the reason.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own device (the HEIC decoder, about 2 MB, is downloaded from this site the first time you convert), and this page has no upload endpoint. Once the page has loaded it keeps working offline.

Is JPG to ZIP lossless?

Yes. The original file is kept byte for byte.

Are the photos compressed again in the ZIP?

No. They are stored exactly as they are. JPEG is already compressed, so zipping would save almost nothing and cost time.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 30 files of 25 MB each per batch, and images up to 50 megapixels. Convert them together and download each one, or take them all as a ZIP.
