How to convert WebP to PNG
- Drop your WebP files on the box above, or click it to choose them (up to 30 at once).
- Press Convert. Each file is processed on your device and shows its old and new size.
- Download the files one by one or take them all as a ZIP.
What changes when you convert WebP to PNG
- Every decoded pixel is written exactly — PNG is lossless here. Converting cannot restore detail WebP compression already discarded; it only stops further loss.
- Transparency is kept.
- An animated WebP becomes a single still image (the first frame).
- Camera details and GPS location (EXIF) are not copied into the new file. Photo orientation is applied to the pixels first, so the result is the right way up.
About WebP and PNG files
WebP is Google’s web image format. At the same visual quality it is usually smaller than JPEG and PNG, and it supports transparency, but older desktop software may not open it.
PNG is lossless: every pixel is stored exactly, and it supports full transparency. Photos come out large; screenshots, logos and graphics with flat colour stay small. It is a good choice for screenshots, logos, graphics with text, and anything that needs a transparent background.
Limits
Up to 30 files of 25 MB each per batch and images up to 50 megapixels — beyond that browsers run out of memory, so the tool says so instead of producing a broken file. Files that are not images, or are damaged, are rejected with the reason.
