Anganwadi Salary Calculator

Work out an Anganwadi worker’s or helper’s monthly honorarium (मानदेय), the yearly total, arrears and the amount after deductions — from the figures in your own order or pay slip. The calculator stores no state rates, so it never shows an old amount as current.

      What this calculator does

Anganwadi workers (आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकर्ता), mini Anganwadi workers and helpers (सहायिका) are paid an honorarium under the Government of India’s Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. The Centre shares the cost, States and Union Territories add their own top-ups and incentives, and the amounts are revised by government order from time to time. That is why two workers in different States, or the same worker in different years, receive different amounts.

This calculator does not guess those amounts. You enter what applies to you, and it shows the gross monthly amount, deductions, the net amount, the yearly totals and any arrears, with every step of the working.

      How to use it

      1. Pick your role and, if you like, your State (it is only used as a label).
      2. Enter the base honorarium and any State top-up or allowance from your order. Add incentives — fixed monthly ones, and per-task ones with the number of tasks.
      3. Enter unpaid days and any deductions.
      4. If an increase has been announced but not yet paid, enter the old and new amounts and the months due.
      5. Press Calculate. Save the figures in this browser to reuse next month.

How the amount is worked out

gross monthly = base + additional amounts + fixed incentives + (incentive per task × tasks) + other payments

net monthly = gross monthly − base × unpaid days ÷ days in month − deductions

arrears = (new monthly − old monthly) × months due and this payment = net monthly + arrears

      yearly = monthly × 12

      Examples

A normal month. Base 4,500, State top-up 3,000, a 500 incentive and 10 tasks at 20 each, plus 100 other: gross 8,300. Three unpaid days in a 30-day month cut 450 from the base, and 200 is deducted: net 7,650, or 91,800 over a year. (These figures are an example, not any State’s current rate.)

Arrears after an increase. The honorarium rose from 7,000 to 10,000 four months before it was paid. Arrears are 3,000 × 4 = 12,000, so that month’s payment is the new net amount plus 12,000.

      Common mistakes

      • Using a figure from a news report or an old website instead of your own order — amounts differ by State and change over time.
      • Counting a one-time payment as monthly. Enter one-off amounts as arrears per month with 1 month, or leave them out of the yearly figure.
      • Adding an incentive twice: once as a fixed incentive and again as per-task.

      Frequently asked questions

      How is Anganwadi salary calculated?

Anganwadi workers and helpers receive a monthly honorarium, not a salary on a pay scale. Add the base honorarium, the State’s additional amount, fixed incentives and any per-task incentive, take away deductions, and multiply by 12 for the year. For example, 4,500 + 3,000 top-up + 500 incentive = 8,000 a month, or 96,000 a year before deductions.

Why does the calculator not show my state’s amount?

Because it changes. The central share, each State’s top-up and incentives are revised by government order from time to time, and any table on a website soon goes out of date. Enter the amounts from your appointment letter, the latest government order or your pay slip, and the calculator does the rest.

How do I calculate Anganwadi arrears?

Arrears are the increase you were owed but not yet paid. Take the new monthly amount minus the old one and multiply by the number of months since the increase took effect. If the honorarium rose from 7,000 to 10,000 four months ago, the arrears are 3,000 × 4 = 12,000.

What is the difference between an Anganwadi worker, mini worker and helper?

An Anganwadi worker runs the centre; a mini Anganwadi worker runs a smaller centre, usually without a helper; a helper assists the worker. Each role has its own honorarium, set by the Centre and the State. The calculator lets you pick a role or type your own label.

How are unpaid days worked out?

If your order cuts pay for days not worked, enter the days in that month and the unpaid days. The calculator reduces the base honorarium in proportion: 3 unpaid days in a 30-day month cut a 4,500 base by 450. If your State uses a different rule, leave unpaid days at 0 and enter the cut as a deduction.

Is this an official government calculator?

No. EasyCalculatorSmart is an independent website and not a government website. It gives an estimate from the figures you enter. For official amounts, check your State’s Women and Child Development department or your CDPO office.
