How to use the simple interest calculator
- Enter the principal and the yearly interest rate.
- Enter the time and choose years, months or days.
- Press Calculate to see the interest and the total amount.
Work out simple interest on a loan or deposit for any number of years, months or days, and the total to be repaid or received.
Enter the principal, rate and time, then press Calculate.
SI = P × R × T ÷ 100. Total amount = P + SI.
₹50,000 × 8 × 3 ÷ 100 = ₹12,000, so the total is ₹62,000.
Choose months or days in "Time in". The calculator turns them into years (months ÷ 12, days ÷ 365) before applying the formula.
Lenders that charge by the day may use a 360- or 365-day year; check your agreement.
