How to convert HEIC to TIFF
- Drop your HEIC files on the box above, or click it to choose them (up to 30 at once).
- Press Convert. Each file is processed on your device and shows its old and new size.
- Download the files one by one or take them all as a ZIP.
What changes when you convert HEIC to TIFF
- Every decoded pixel is written exactly — TIFF is lossless here. Converting cannot restore detail HEIC compression already discarded; it only stops further loss.
- Transparency is kept.
- Camera details and GPS location (EXIF) are not copied into the new file. Photo orientation is applied to the pixels first, so the result is the right way up.
- Expect a much larger file: TIFF here is uncompressed, about width × height × 4 bytes — roughly 48 MB for a 12-megapixel photo.
About HEIC and TIFF files
HEIC is the format iPhones save photos in by default. It is roughly half the size of an equivalent JPEG, but Windows, Android and most websites cannot open it without extra software.
TIFF is the format of printing, scanning and archiving. The files written here are uncompressed, so they are large, but every pixel is kept exactly. It is a good choice for print shops, scanning workflows and archives that ask for TIFF.
Limits
Up to 30 files of 25 MB each per batch and images up to 50 megapixels — beyond that browsers run out of memory, so the tool says so instead of producing a broken file. HEIC decoding uses libheif in the background and can take a few seconds per photo on a phone. Files that are not images, or are damaged, are rejected with the reason.
