How to convert QFX to Excel
- Drop your QFX file on the box above, or paste its content into the text box.
- Press Convert. Every amount and date is checked; if any row cannot be read exactly, nothing is written and the rows are listed.
- Download the .xlsx file.
What is kept when you convert QFX to Excel
- A real .xlsx workbook with a bold, frozen header row and one row per transaction.
- Amounts are numeric cells (so SUM works); account numbers, FITIDs and other identifiers with leading zeros stay text so Excel cannot strip or round them.
- Dates are written as YYYY-MM-DD text, exactly as in the file.
About QFX and Excel files
QFX is Quicken’s version of OFX: the same statement data plus an INTU.BID element that tells Quicken which bank the file came from. It opens in Quicken.
An .xlsx is an Excel workbook. Numbers written here are real numeric cells; identifiers with leading zeros or more than 15 digits stay text so Excel cannot round them. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, Numbers.
Good to know
- A QFX file is OFX underneath, so it also works on the OFX tools on this site; only the INTU elements differ.
- Excel shows at most 1,048,576 rows and 32,767 characters per cell; larger data still opens, but is cut off on screen.
Privacy and limits
