How to convert OFX to PDF
- Drop your OFX file on the box above, or paste its content into the text box.
- Check the settings below the box; the defaults suit most files.
- Press Convert. Every amount and date is checked; if any row cannot be read exactly, nothing is written and the rows are listed.
- Download the .pdf file.
What is kept when you convert OFX to PDF
- Every transaction is listed with its posted date, description, memo, type and amount exactly as in the file — amounts are never recalculated or rounded.
- Account number, type, currency, statement period and the ledger balance from the file are printed above the table.
- Totals of money in and money out are added with exact decimal arithmetic, so they match the file to the cent.
About OFX and PDF files
OFX (Open Financial Exchange) is the standard bank-statement download format. Version 1 files are SGML with unclosed tags; version 2 files are XML. Each transaction carries a date, an amount with its sign, a type and a unique FITID. It opens in Quicken, QuickBooks, GnuCash, Moneydance, most accounting software.
A PDF fixes text and layout into pages that look the same on every device and printer. The PDFs written here embed their font, so the text stays selectable and searchable. It opens in any browser, Acrobat Reader, phone and tablet viewers.
Good to know
- GnuCash and Moneydance import OFX through File → Import; Quicken and QuickBooks prefer QFX and QBO.
- Choose PDF for printing, archiving and sending final versions. If the recipient needs to edit, send Word instead.
Privacy and limits
The file is read and converted by this page in your browser; there is no upload and no account. Amounts are handled as exact decimal text, never as rounded numbers. Files up to 25 MB are accepted; a file of the wrong type or a damaged file is rejected with the reason.
